Gary Anderson, Mike De Decker en Michael Smith moeten vechten voor hun plek in top-64 van Players Championship Order of Merit
In dit artikel:
Cameron Menzies won Players Championship 29 in Den Bosch and made the biggest jump on the Players Championship Order of Merit: from 35th to 11th place. The ranking is based solely on prize money earned during the Pro Tour series and determines which 64 players qualify for the Players Championship Finals in Minehead at the end of November.
The qualification race remains highly uncertain. Gary Anderson is 58th with £29,750 and is still inside the qualifying zone, but could be overtaken by players such as Jim Long and Bradley Brooks. Because Anderson regularly skips these tournaments, his participation in Minehead is increasingly under pressure. Mike De Decker and Michael Smith are also in a vulnerable position around 61st, while Martin Schindler is 60th and still needs results in the coming weeks.
Nathan Aspinall improved his position by reaching the fourth round in Den Bosch, but remains outside the top 64 and will probably need to play more Pro Tour events. Josh Rock is 71st and Peter Wright 89th. Luke Littler is likewise outside the qualifying places, although he is unlikely to return to the series after failing to win all major televised tournaments in a single calendar year. William O’Connor also climbed sharply, from 19th to 12th, while Jeffrey de Graaf moved up to 17th. Michael van Gerwen had already failed to qualify for the finals.
